This hotel is a good choice for the budget conscious traveler who is looking for an affordable base to explore Edinburgh. Ideally located and very competitively priced. The Edinburgh House Hotel is situated on a safe and quiet side street in Edinburgh Pilrig residential area. Approximately a mile form the centre of town it is about a 10 to 15 minute walk to the city centre and buses do run regularly to attractions such as Edinburgh Castle and the Royal Mile as well as the city centre's shops, bars and restaurants. Rooms range in size from small to large, they are in an acceptable condition. The hotel is based in a nineteenth century Victorian townhouse, it is set over three floors and many of the original period features are still visible. The Edinburgh House Hotel does not have a restaurant facility. The lobby is small and located directly inside the front door in front of the stairs to the first landing. There is a small reading room off to the left.
