North Star A stunningly renovated hotel - to the tune of EUR13 million - with an ideal location and easy access to Gaiety Theatre, Trinity College, shopping districts, including Henry Street and Grafton Street. With all 161 rooms upgraded, the Premier Club Suites and Executive Rooms are exceptional too, however please note that the 2 lifts only cater for executive rooms; clients should use stairs in the standard room block. (GW 08/2013) ## Location The North Star Hotel is located in the heart of the Dublin city's transport hub, with the main railway and tram station (Connolly Station) across the road, the central bus station (Busarus) around the corner and the airport link bus stop outside the entrance to the hotel. You are only a short walk away from some of Dublin's historical and cultural highlights, including Trinity College, Temple Bar and the Custom House. Croke Park Stadium is ten minutes away on foot, and the newly developed O2 Theatre only a two minute tram ride away. ## Distance 6 kms to the nearest airport (dublin airport) Close to the station (connolly (20 metres)) 1 minute walk to the nearest bus stop 1 km to the nearest fair site (02 arena) ## Rooms The North Star Hotel's Standard Rooms are modern and comfortable rooms and offer different configurations for doubles, twins, triples, a double and a single, etc. Fully refurbished in 2013, they are ideal after a day of discovering Dublin's sights and are located in the Georgian wing of the hotel. Each bedroom is cleanly designed, bright and designed to international standards. Some of these rooms are overlooking train lines that lead in and out of Connolly Station. Standard features include Tea/Coffee making facilities, Trouser Press, Hairdryer, LCD TV and Crisp White Cotton Duvets. ## Restaurant There are two options at the North Star: Opened in 2013, McGettigan's Cookhouse & Bar is Dublin's newest eatery and offers the best in fine Irish cuisine. It has been superbly designed, with an open kitchen and a fantastic brasserie style menu offering light bites and delicious main courses using the finest quality ingredients Alternatively, The McGettigan's Restaurant offers a fine display of cuisine to please even the most discerning palate. The Restaurant offers the best of both international and traditional Irish delights. There is also McCoys beer garden: fully covered, fully heated and it leads off from the Cookhouse & Bar. ## Exterior The North Star Hotel Dublin was built in the early 19th-century, predating the railway station by four decades, and is mentioned in James Joyce's masterpiece 'Ulysses'. ## Lobby The lobby and reception has recently - 2013 - been fully refurbished and is now modern and contemporary in style.
