The Hotel Caribe is just a five-minute walk from the gates of PortAventura Park and Costa Caribe Aquatic Park. Salou is also only five to ten minutes away by car and it is an hour drive to Barcelona. During the day, you can relax on wicker chairs around the lake while children enjoy the many facilities on offer including the four swimming pools. The 497 guestrooms are air conditioned in the summer and heated in the winter. Standard rooms have a telephone, satellite television and an en-suite bathroom, and can sleep a maximum of three adults or two adults and two children. There are numerous dining options in the hotel, including two a la carte options and three bars. In addition to access to the PortAventura Park and the Costa Caribe Aquatic Park, there is also a volleyball court, a wellness center with a heated pool, Jacuzzi, sauna and spa treatments. Daytime and evening entertainment is also available in the hotel and in the park during high season when the park is open at night. The PortAventura Park combines different areas themed to symbolize different regions and cultures of the world. There are many rides to experience, from gentle jungle swings for the kids, to full-on 135 km/h adrenaline coasters. Shows are the second biggest attraction to PortAventura, and there are a wide variety of entertainment throughout the day, from precise acrobatics to card tricks and magicians that everyone will enjoy. When you get peckish you are spoilt for choice of where to refuel, each land has a wide variety of restaurants and food outlets, ranging from a la carte menus to grab-and-go fast food for those who just want to keep going! Children are also well catered for with specially adapted menus. The Costa Caribe Aquatic Park, formerly known as Caribe Aquatic Park, is less than a stones throw from the main Park and has its own entrance. The vibe is very much a chilled out Caribbean feel; reggae music fills the air whilst kids and adults fill the water. Plenty of shade is provided by towering palm trees and beach huts, which serve up ice-cold beverages as well as delicious food. An array of single flumes, double dingy flumes, water rapids and wave pools are scattered across park as well as a lazy river, which meanders comfortably in an effortless circuit around the park.
