Coming or going, stop by the snazzy street-level restaurant and bar, Niles New York City. At the Affinia Manhattan guests enjoy dining at the award- winning Niles' New York City restaurant and cocktail lounge, serving continental cuisine for breakfast lunch and dinner. Room service is offered from 7am - 11:30pm daily. Affinia Manhattan wanted to inform of some additional work required on the side entrance of the hotel. This entrance will remain closed until approximately February 10, 2013. There is no work visible to guests; the entrance is closed off with a mural, working hours are Monday - Friday, 8:30 am - 5 pm. The Main entrance of the hotel is on 7th Avenue and is open. Affinia Manhattan will complete the third and final phase of their renovations with a lobby refurbishment. The information is listed below. The start date is subject to change but only by a couple of days later. Expected Start date: February 13, 2013 - May 31, 2013. The program consists of a cosmetic refresh of the main lobby, elevator lobby, reception area and eventually the 7th Avenue entrance, as well as some exterior Marquee modifications. Work involved includes the following: New seating areas, furnishings and electrical upgrades, Relocation of concierge station to current business center location (to the right of the front desk). Will create a communal business center area in the lobby (similar to setup at the Affinia Shelburne). Remodeling of all window bay areas of the lobby.Painting of all space. Upgrade of the reception desk.Create a new Grab 'N' Go area to the left of the Front desk. New ceiling and floor design at the 7th Ave entrance. Elevators will receive new flooring consisting of stone/carpet combination. Please be aware of the following information as well: The main lobby will have sections closed off and there may be construction noise in the main lobby area. In an effort to avoid this, the hotel will do their best to direct people to the 31st street entrance which will be completed by that time. Due to the fact they are changing out a lot of the FF&E Items (Furniture, Fixtures, etc.) there will be some workers and other construction teams in the main areas. This may create some noise, although there is no heavy demolition expected.As of right now, there is no specific timeline on what areas will be concealed and worked on first. They are still awaiting on delivery of goods and then will schedule the labor. In addition, by May, they fully expect all renovations completed, however they also expect that they will be changing the chandelier which is a big project. It will again create somewhat of a workers environment along with noise but they do not have the full scope of what exactly that will feel and look like. This is expected to be done at this time, in late May.
